What is the difference between, Paramedical Micro-Pigmentation and Tattooing?
Paramedical Micro-Pigmentation is where customized skin-color pigment is implanted into the dermis layer of an affected area of the skin, to blend in with the rest of the skin. This also includes Scar Relaxation technique which is used to increase mobility on contracted scars, and Areola Re-pigmentation to re-create shape and size of the areola and nipple by inserting pigment into the depigmented area as a result of breast surgery.
Paramedical Micro-Pigmentation is the most effective procedure to camouflage skin imperfection because it is the only procedure that utilizes pigment implanted into the skin discoloration to conceal and camouflage the skin abnormalities to look totally natural.
What is the difference between, Paramedical Micro-Pigmentation and Tattooing?
It’s the same process but a different purpose.
Tattoos are inserted pigment that creates art by color on the normal area of the skin, and with eye catching colors but,
Paramedical Micro-Pigmentation is inserted pigment that camouflages skin discoloration on the abnormal area leaving a more natural look.
Same process, but different in purpose - the Paramedical Micro-Pigmentation technician and the tattoo artist are specialized in different fields.
The Paramedical Micro-Pigmentation technician is specialized in the camouflage of skin abnormalities and uses techniques to blend the problem area with the normal area.
We use various techniques depending on the type of scar, and each method has different outcomes and expectation. Implanting pigment on a “problem area” must be performed using the right technique for that specific procedure.
One of the most important techniques is choosing the right shade for the procedure.
Choosing the color by looking through the pigment bottledoes not indicate the correct shade because;
▬ Pigment + Skin tones = The final color
▬ Performing Scar camouflage by an untrained technician may lead to a bigger unwanted result.
▬ A lack of skill in choosing the right type of pigment
▬ There have been many cases of untrained tattoo artists performing stretch mark camouflage without any training using flat tattoo needles with white color pigment penetrated around the stretch marks in a circlular motion to improve the appearance of the stretch marks.
This process cannot help camouflage stretch marks, it will only make it worse.
Because white pigment will not make it lighter, it will look grayish after It has been inserted into the skin. It will continue to get darker after the skin has healed turning into a permanent dark gray shadow effect.
Please note, the white pigment turns black when exposed to lasers.
You should choose a trained technician to perform this procedure. The technician must have great knowledge in camouflaging skin abnormalities and applying the right technique for the right procedure. One of the Paramedical Micro-pigmentation’s skills is to break up the scar tissue. This technique is called scar relaxation and is the procedure recommended for jagged skin. The problem area is considered as an “unreasoned area” and the pigment will give you an uneven result. Note: adding color to the procedure will not increase coverage but will result in leaving a dark pigmented circle.
When will it recover?
This depends on the skin condition of each person. It usually takes five days for the redness to disappear and 4-8 weeks to realize the final color result.
Understand the important points
▬ Implanting color on cut or stitch scars cannot be completed in just one session
▬ Camouflage techniques will not restore your skin, but it will look a lot less noticeable
▬ Paramedical Micropigmentation doesn’t only mean pigment-implantation, but it is also the use of needles that are penetrated to stimulate the skin
▬ Check color accuracy 4-8 weeks after the skin is fully healed
▬ The volume of the pigment can be increased or decreased at any time using a specialized technique and without using laser
▬ The pigmented area will appear dark once the color has implanted, but will slowly fade to approximately 25 - 40%
▬ Sun exposure will not darken the pigmented area
▬ To achieve the desired result, multiple sessions are recommended
▬ Some skin imperfections are best handled by laser and require professional medical treatment.
